Meet Kathryn
Kathryn has had a love of learning their entire life, and has always been excited about sharing that love with others. With experience in teaching subjects from English to Ancient Greek Mythology, they know firsthand how important it is to bring every young learner’s creativity and spark to life. While spending summers teaching with Next Generation Scholars, they honed their ability to tailor lesson plans to each individual student and support young learners holistically. “I’m so passionate about the accessibility of knowledge, especially for any students learning to navigate mental health challenges that can make the educational system much harder to maneuver.”
Outside of academics, Kathryn is an actor, singer, and writer; “I’ve been obsessed with words and self-expression since I was young, and I know that there’s never just one correct way to do anything; there’s nothing better than the moment when a young student finds an avenue of learning or writing that works best for them.” Kathryn also speaks French, having studied with the Vassar College French department as well as the Middlebury Language Schools. They are a published poet and have significant experience with all types of personal, academic, and creative writing. Their approach to tutoring is much the same as their approach to life in general – leading with compassion, flexibility, and understanding.
