Part Time Academic Tutor – Contract Position
Seattle, Washington
Contractor
We are a PNW based tutoring company specializing in K-12 subject tutoring, academic coaching, college admissions and test prep. We are looking to hire local tutors with experience/proficiency in a range of subjects outlined below. You must be based in Seattle with availability to provide in-home tutoring to students within the greater Seattle area. We also offer online tutoring, but are primarily in need of local in-person tutors.
The number of hours is variable, 5-20 hours per week. Tutors control their own schedule so the number of hours you work and when you work is largely up to you. Please keep in mind it can take time to build up your schedule and things do fluctuate with school breaks. You must have some availability on weekdays afterschool (3-8ish) and/or weekends.
We are a small organization that strives to build strong relationships with families and students. Most of our students are long term and many of our new students come from direct referrals. We place an emphasis on teaching the whole student, going beyond subject matter and addressing the myriad challenges that students face (mindset, confidence, executive skills, etc.). With that in mind, we are looking for tutors with broad multi-subject and academic coaching experience who are familiar with the growth mindset and who bring a strong sense of empathy to their work with students.
