Tutoring Jobs in Seattle, WA

Build meaningful connections with Seattle students and families while doing work that matters. Emergent Education is hiring experienced, thoughtful tutors for in-person and online K-12 academic support throughout the greater Seattle area.

We are a small, relationship-driven tutoring company. Our tutors often work with the same students over multiple school years, helping them strengthen academic skills while building confidence, organization, motivation, and independence.

About The Role

Emergent Education is not a high-volume tutoring platform. We take a thoughtful approach to tutor-student matching because the right relationship can make an enormous difference in a student’s experience and progress.

Many of our Seattle families are looking for more than subject-specific homework help. They want a reliable educator who can understand the student as a whole person, adapt instruction to how they learn, and provide steady encouragement over time.

That means our tutors have room to do what they do best: teach with care, use their professional judgment, and build trust with students and parents. We keep administrative work light and provide responsive support so you can focus on meaningful sessions rather than unnecessary reporting.

Schedule and Hours

Tutoring with Emergent Education is designed to be flexible, but consistency is important to the students and families we serve.

Create a Schedule That Works for You

You tell us when you are available, which subjects you prefer, and how far you are comfortable traveling. We work to connect you with Seattle-area students whose needs fit your schedule.

Build a Recurring Caseload

Most tutors begin with a limited number of students and gradually build a regular caseload. Students often meet with the same tutor weekly, which creates opportunities for deeper academic and personal growth.

Weekday Afternoons & Weekends Preferred

Weekday after-school hours, generally from 3 PM to 8 PM, are especially valuable. Weekend morning and afternoon availability is also helpful for many families.

Seasonal Changes are Normal

Tutoring demand can shift during school breaks, holidays, and the summer. Demand typically increases at the beginning of a school semester and during key academic transition periods.

Areas of Expertise We Are Seeking

We welcome tutors with a range of academic backgrounds and teaching styles. Candidates who can support more than one subject area or age group are especially valuable.
