Meet Ellena
Ellena Jones is a certified elementary educator with a passion for helping young learners build confidence and a love of learning. With over three years of classroom experience teaching both 2nd and 5th grade students, Ellena has worked extensively with learners of varying abilities and learning styles, including students with ADHD, autism, and other diverse learning needs.
“I see every student as a sense maker,” says Ellena. “Children are naturally curious and capable — my job is to understand how each one thinks and build on that. Whether a student learns best through movement, visuals, or conversation, I meet them where they are and make sure the learning feels meaningful to them.”
Ellena’s background in social work gives her a deep understanding of child development and the social-emotional factors that shape how kids learn. She combines that insight with expertise in elementary math, reading, writing, and science to create an inclusive, whole-child tutoring experience where students feel supported, challenged, and capable of success.
Known for her relationship-centered approach, Ellena excels at helping students who need additional academic support, confidence-building, or executive functioning support. She enjoys working one-on-one with students to break complex tasks into manageable steps, develop organizational skills, and build the independence needed for long-term success. Her experience teaching across multiple elementary grade levels gives her a strong understanding of how foundational skills develop over time, allowing her to identify learning gaps and tailor instruction to each student’s unique needs.
