Noah de Leeuw

Noah has always been a curious learner. Growing up in Seattle’s public schools, he was the kindergartener disappointed to learn there was no homework and the second grader correcting a teacher on how to spell “giraffe.” That same enthusiasm carried him through a B.S. in Physics at the University of Washington and a Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Biophysics at the University of Denver, where he spent six years teaching physics, astronomy, and math to students from diverse backgrounds.

As a tutor, Noah emphasizes patience and empathy. He wants students to see difficult subjects not as barriers but as puzzles worth exploring. At the University of Denver, students consistently praised his calm, approachable teaching style and his ability to demystify complex concepts.

While STEM is his specialty, Noah believes in meeting students where they are. He looks for ways to connect science with a student’s passions—whether that’s history, language, or the arts—so learning feels both relevant and exciting.

Outside the classroom, Noah volunteers at Seattle food banks, plays card games, and is a familiar face in local book clubs, where he enjoys bringing unexpected titles to the table.
