Meet Kedar

Kedar Yadav is a physics and mathematics tutor with experience supporting students through private tutoring, peer mentoring, and university laboratory instruction. As a teaching assistant at California State University, Long Beach, he led undergraduate laboratory sections in classical mechanics, circuits, and electromagnetism, while also mentoring undergraduate research students. Throughout his academic career, Kedar consistently sought out opportunities to help others learn, and his professors describe him as an enthusiastic teacher with a talent for explaining challenging concepts in multiple ways until they click.

Kedar also supported his disabled sister throughout her education, an experience that strengthened his patience, adaptability, and understanding of students with ADHD, learning disabilities, math anxiety, and gaps in prior preparation. He believes effective tutoring extends beyond mastering content to helping students build confidence, develop strong problem-solving habits, and become increasingly independent learners.

“My approach is holistic. I support students from the beginning to the end of a task while helping them develop the habits behind successful learning. I focus on how they write, solve problems, organize their work, and motivate themselves to remain focused and engaged. My goal is to help students become more independent both when I am not there and when they are in the classroom.”

Qualifications:

  • More than two years of formal tutoring and university teaching experience, plus extensive peer tutoring
  • Experience supporting students with ADHD, learning disabilities, math anxiety, and varied academic preparation
  • M.S. in Theoretical/Computational Physics, California State University, Long Beach
  • B.S. in Physics with a minor in Mathematics, University of Washington Bothell
  • Recipient of the 2026 Outstanding Thesis Award in Physics and Astronomy
