Supporting Students

Meet Lilian

Lilian brings enthusiasm, patience, and humor to every lesson. Encouraging students to build confidence in their abilities to understand the world—be it through essays, equations, or chemical formulas—has brought her joy since she started teaching in high school. She believes that “growing to love the journey of learning is one of the most valuable skills—and it’s one that helps students do well not only in school, but in life as well.”

She has a background in a wide variety of fields, including neuroscience, philosophy, language development, and music. She thoughtfully leverages her skills to bring not only a research-based approach to teaching but also a creative and adaptive style to engaging students.

Most recently, Lilian acted as a teaching assistant for biology, physics, biochemistry, and neuroscience courses at the University of Washington, but her teaching journey began with requests from family friends that turned into years-long relationships with young learners. She has extensive experience working with students ages 6–17 and is confident in providing support at every level along that educational path, from building foundational reading, writing, science, and math skills to preparing for college applications.
