Meet Lauren
Lauren’s enthusiasm for teaching began during her time as a summer camp counselor, where she helped campers strengthen their math and reading skills. Her passion for working with students in a compassionate, adaptive, and engaging way continued to grow through her experience as a tennis coach, and now drives her current work as a support worker for an individual with autism. These roles have reinforced the importance of building strong relationships with learners and tailoring support to their unique needs and preferences. “In my experiences teaching, I’ve found the most success when I take a flexible approach and follow the lead of the learner.”
Lauren recently earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Lewis & Clark College, with minors in French and Neuroscience. “As a student, I experienced many different teaching styles, and I always learned best when my teachers were enthusiastic, positive, and supportive. One of my biggest goals as a tutor is to bring that same energy to each session—to make learning more enjoyable, rewarding, and meaningful.”
Lauren specializes in tutoring math (from elementary through Algebra I), reading and writing at all levels, as well as chemistry, biology, and French. She also has experience working with neurodivergent learners, including those on the autism spectrum.
