Meet Azalia
Azalia’s passion for tutoring began in her sophomore year of high school, when she first started helping classmates with math. She quickly discovered how much she loved sharing her enthusiasm for the subject, and her peers appreciated her ability to break down complex concepts. This early experience sparked a lifelong commitment to education.
While pursuing her degree in Data Science, Azalia expanded her tutoring experience by working with elementary students in math and ELA. Over the past five years, she has tutored students across a range of grade levels, from elementary to high school, developing strategies tailored to each learner’s unique needs. She finds the most rewarding moments come when students connect the dots on a concept they’ve struggled with: “Seeing that spark of understanding is incredible. It makes all the hard work worth it.”
In addition to her work with Emergent Education, Azalia teaches math and science at a K-12 school, working with students both below and above grade level. Her experience includes supporting students with diverse learning needs, including ADHD, autism, and anxiety. Azalia emphasizes a flexible teaching approach, adapting explanations to meet the specific learning styles of each student.“I love finding new ways to explain concepts so that every student can succeed.”
