Meet Caleb

Caleb believes that language is at the center of all learning and being. Giving voice to students is one of her greatest passions, and she loves doing so for all ages and in all subjects! “Math is a language whose vocabulary and grammar are not taught explicitly enough. Being fluent in its  translations enables the greatest freedom as a learner.”

Caleb has most recently taught as a Preschool and Kindergarten teacher in the public school system, but her first foray into teaching was tutoring while in high school, helping teach 3rd-5th graders programming fundamentals in the computer lab. From there, she did not stop teaching. Caleb worked at a variety of educational summer programs for gifted middle and high schoolers, while finishing her degree, and then graduated from Swarthmore College with a degree in Linguistics and a minor in Education, and certification as an Elementary school teacher and as an ESL teacher. Her interest in a wide array of subjects and ages is a natural conclusion of her teaching beliefs. “All students need to find their purpose in connecting to the text. Age makes no difference.”
