Meet Caleb

Caleb believes that language is at the center of all learning. Helping students find their voice—whether through reading, writing, or problem solving—is one of her greatest passions. As Caleb puts it, “Math is a language whose vocabulary and grammar are not always taught explicitly. Learning to translate it gives students real freedom as learners.”

Caleb most recently taught Preschool and Kindergarten in the public school system, but her teaching journey began in high school when she helped teach programming fundamentals to 3rd–5th graders in her school’s computer lab. She continued teaching throughout college, working with gifted middle and high school students in a variety of educational summer programs.

Caleb graduated from Swarthmore College with a B.A. in Linguistics and a minor in Education. She holds teaching certifications in Elementary Education and ESL. Her background across age groups reflects her belief that meaningful learning happens when students are able to connect with ideas in ways that make sense to them.
