Meet Lucy
Lucy brings a strong STEM background and a calm, encouraging presence to her work with students. Raised by two educators, she developed an early appreciation for learning and the difference a supportive teacher can make. She graduated cum laude from Princeton University with a B.A. in Neuroscience and is currently pursuing her medical degree at Oregon Health & Science University.
With over five years of tutoring experience, Lucy has supported K–12 and undergraduate students in both one-on-one and small-group settings. At Mathnasium, she taught algebra through pre-calculus, creating individualized lesson plans and adapting instruction to students’ needs. At Princeton’s McGraw Center, she tutored statistics and molecular biology, helping students work through complex concepts and R-based assignments. As a lead undergraduate course assistant, she also led study halls and provided constructive feedback on scientific inquiry assignments.
Lucy combines high expectations with patience, warmth, and humility. She listens carefully, meets students at their current level of understanding, and helps them approach challenging material in manageable steps. Her undergraduate thesis explored the development of attention and working memory, reflecting her interest in the processes underlying learning. Her clinical experience has further strengthened her ability to explain complex information clearly and communicate with people from varied backgrounds.
A former Division I cross-country and track athlete at Princeton, Lucy understands the organization, persistence, and flexibility needed to balance demanding commitments. She brings that perspective to supporting students in mathematics, the life sciences, and standardized test preparation. Outside of her studies and tutoring, she enjoys hiking, running, and spending time with family and friends.
